DUO

Alain RIEDER (drums) / Jean F. MATHIEU (acoustic electric and synth guitars)

In this duo, where the absence of a bass player is deliberate, we particularly work on the sound and the interaction between the guitar-synth and the bass drum. This duo has the sound of a rock band while taking chances and improvising in a way most commonly associated to jazz. We take the liberty to have fun while being consistent with the different dynamics of the pieces: very intimate instants or explosive rock energy. Those who already know the music on CD will enjoy this "live" version of some old and new pieces. Others are welcome to discover jfm's “inguitarissable” world.

TRIOS

"Reliefs"

Patricia BOSSHARD (violin, electric alto, small boxes with various effects); Claude JORDAN (flutes, electric train, bitogniots, various electronic treatments); Jean F. MATHIEU (guitars).

Under this very unusual orchestration, the pieces are taking strange colors and textures, as cameleons do...

Own compositions & improvisations

"New CREAM"

Jean F. MATHIEU (electric guitar); Jacques SIRON (double bass, voice); Claude TABARINI, (drums, voice)

Without knowing in advance what the Gods will bring to their instruments, they take chances...fearless! Nothing is impossible.

QUARTET

QUATUOR Double FM

French horn quatuor FM31 : Isabelle GAUSE, Carole PILLOUD, Nicole AUBERT (+ musical saw), Klaus UHLEMANN

and: Jean F. MATHIEU (guitare)

DoubleFM

The Quatuor FM 31 has no direct parental link with jfm nor with FM music.

They are brilliant performers that you can hear, interpreting classical and contemporary music, in symphonic orchestras like the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, in the ensemble Contrechamps and the association Eustache.

This collaboration was born from the envy of this Quatuor to play less "classical" musical material. They called jfmathieu, well known for his "eclectical" repertoire.

The Quatuor plays “La Rage du Renard Bleu”, ”Herakles ducks again”, “Pièce de nuit”... sometimes backed by the electric guitar. They also have a very spectacular piece for musical saw and bottleneck guitar.

French horn is sometimes difficult to hear in dense orchestral symphonic music. It is interesting to hear them in a small ensemble and thus, be able to discover the many faces of this instrument. In this perspective, this group also gives concerts in schools and Colleges.

The scores of various original pieces will be soon published.
